Hawaii - Day 7 and 8 {Kauai}

Good Morning, Kauai!

We were here for two days so we rented a car.

We were up early and off the ship for a yummy breakfast!
Kountry Kitchen came highly recommended and it did not disappoint.

I love fresh papaya. It's one of my most favorites!
I was so excited!

Macadamia french toast with coconut syrup.
I miss this.

After breakfast, we drove north to Hanalei Bay. We didn't have a ton of time here as some of us had a big adventure.

After enjoying the scenery, we dropped these fools off. (More on that later.)

Katie and I were off for an afternoon to ourselves.
Shopping and lunch was perfect.

The other peeps were off on a tubing adventure for the afternoon!
They had a blast!

Their tour guide!

Katie and I headed back to pick up the rest of the clan.
They were dirty, tired but had so much fun!

We were off to Waimea Falls!
This is where the opening scene from Fantasy Island was filmed.

We were confused if John has been there before. Ha!

After the Falls, we headed to Waimea Canyon. This is known as the Grand Canyon of the West.

Absolutely breathtaking!

After our adventures, we headed back to the ship for showers and rest.
We decided to eat at the buffet for dinner, where Patrick had an admirer.

Day 2 in Kauai brought more adventures and sightseeing!

We headed to Kalalau Lookout which was about 2 hours from the ship.
I don't know that Ava was real happy with me, but we all agreed it was the most beautiful thing we had seen so far.

As some of us were on the fence about a boat ride of the Napali Coast because of possible sickness, we decided for a lookout.
It was beyond beautiful.

From there we headed back through all of the little towns back to the ship.

We stopped at another recommended place for lunch.
Porky's!
This was John's lunch, Katie and I each had a FABULOUS grilled cheese!
Ha!

Proof that I let Patrick drive for a minute.

Passenger princesses

We stopped at Spouting Horn. It was so cool!

After a little shopping and exploring we had to head back to the ship.
It was our last full night!

So we met for drinks...
Virgin margaritas and Dirty Monkey's for the win!

And maybe a couple of shots.
