Vacation!

Since I am WAY BEHIND in blogging, I thought I would finish up the last of our trip in one big post. Sorry for the delay...we were so busy!

On Wednesday, John and Jeremy went golfing. So Jen and I decided to take the girls for one more trip to the beach. What a great idea!!! NOT!

Let me tell this story with John always makes fun of me for being afraid of the ocean. I think it's beautiful and I think that everything that lives in there is AMAZING. From a distance and behind glass walls for my viewing pleasure.

Well I have been trying to become a tad more brave when it comes to the ocean. I've been going in just a little further and even took Ava in pretty far because I don't want to pass on my fear to her. Ava and I were building a sand castle and we were completely covered in sand. So I decided to be a big girl and take us out and GO UNDER and rinse us off. As we were going in I was about waist deep and Jen started to tell me to come back in. And I went into instant panic mode. I very slowly walked back up to the beach and turned around. And I saw about 40-50 stingrays swim by in knee deep water. If Jen wouldn't have told me, Ava and I would have been right in the middle of the pack of them! I was completely and utterly freaked out. I was DONE. I wanted to leave. NOW. And luckily Jen felt the same way. And luckily her parents have a pool. So that's how we ended up.

Poolside.

John and Jeremy met us there after golfing and we had a great time. After hanging by the pool, Jen and I took off and left the girls with John. We went and ran some errands and got manicures. A nice relaxing girl afternoon. We went back and got cleaned up and headed to Giordano's for dinner.

This is a restuarant that has Chicago style pizza. I originally discovered it in Chicago and hunted all of the location on the internet. Imagine our surprise when we realized there was one 30 mins from their house!!

Silly Ava thinking she could pick up the pizza and eat it!

After dinner, we hopped in the car and drove to Boca. My brother lives there and my mom, aunt, and my sister were already there. We got in pretty late so we just went to bed that night. We got up the next morning and it was pouring rain! BOO!! That's ok. It was Cinco de Mayo so we headed out to find my fav...GUACAMOLE!! And we did! So yummy! Poor Ava slept through the entire meal. She woke up as soon as we were getting in the car crying she was hungry. So, we ended up going through a McDonald's drive thru for her.

After we ate, we headed to the beach to try and get some pictures. The rain had stopped, but it was still overcast.

Our attempt at a family beach picture...

Now Ava is on this kick of taking pictures. I'm not sure if she is hanging around http://lisafeatherphotography.com too much! Anyhow, she like to pose you and kind of be bossy...

And then she takes the picture...

And the outcome...(Daddy took this one with our camera)

Thursday night we went to The Cheesecake Factory. again. I can't help it. I love it!!!

After dinner Nate, Jenn (another Jenn), John and I headed to Hollywood's Hard Rock Casino. Jenn and Nate wanted us to double date and go to the comedy show at the Improv. We saw Tom Segura from the Bob and Tom show.

It was hilarious!! He was great!! I felt like I couldn't keep up with the laughing! What a great time! Thanks Nate and Jenn!!

After the show, we decided to head to the casino for a little bit. John and I found the blackjack table.

We didn't last long...our dealer was HOT! We walked away before we lost too much...

On Friday, we headed to an outdoor mall in West Palm Beach. Aunt Tammy bought Ava this Cookie Monster and she had to push it around in her stroller the whole time. Who cares what she hit or ran into. I think we apologized a hundred times that day!!

We went to lunch at a place called City Pizza. It was sooooo good! I keep thinking about it! While we waited for the food, we took a sibling picture....

Uncle Nate hooked Ava up on his cell phone with some Elmo. This kept her entertained until the food came! Thanks, Uncle Nate!!

We went back to the room after some shopping and decided to go for a swim. At this point I was sad. Our time in Boca went soooo quick!! We decided to order in for dinner and stayed back at the hotel and played Apples to Apples. This game is so fun, but magnify that by 100 if you play with Emily. You have to know her way of thinking and all we did was laugh!!!

While we were playing Ava was in the middle of everything playing with her toy dishes. Until she came up to me and said she wanted to go Night Night. I'm sorry, what???? I took her in and she layed right down and went to sleep.

Ava actually slept in my mom's room while we were in Boca. It was so nice to after all of the trouble with her sleeping to have a good night's sleep! Thanks, Mom!!! It was greatly, truly appreciated!!!

Saturday morning started the long drive home. After the tears were shed saying goodbye to Nate, we started out on the long trek home. We got home about 8:00 on Sunday night. That's how I spent my first Mother's Day! But I have no complaints. My family is GREAT and I got to spend it with them! I'll save that for another post...

On the way home, we stopped at a Burger King with a playland. And being the Nana she is, she climbed up with Ava....

Doesn't it look like Ava is yelling at me? "Mom, stop taking pictures and help Nana!!" Haha!!

We had a great trip! And as sad as it is to leave, I'm glad to be back in our routine!!
