No Cavities, But...

For the first time EVER, my girls were cavity free at the dentist! Now, let me defend myself. Ha! Ava was born with no enamel on her teeth. They believe her birth mom probably was sick with an infection while she was pregnant which prevents enamel on the teeth. Crazy, right? The very first time Ava went to the dentist, she had SEVEN cavities. We have been battling them for years and last year we caved and crowned 4 of the teeth. And it was worth it!

Addy has only been to the dentist twice since she's been home. She had cavities in her front two teeth on her first visit. Most likely from a bottle. So...we fixed those cavities, too!

But of course there was something else. Addy has a little abscess on her front tooth. They noticed it about 6 months ago but when we went back and fixed her teeth is was gone. Well, now it's back. There is some concern about it affecting her permanent tooth. They put her on an antibiotic to see if that fixes it. If not, they will have to pull her tooth. Ugh. I do not want her to go through that. So, say a little prayer for Addycakes. Until then!
No cavities, no cavities, no cavities!!!

  1. Having no cavities then is a great progress, especially for Ava, who started off with no enamel on her teeth. Four crowns later, and her teeth is starting to look well. Though the abscess in Addy's tooth is a concern. I'm hope they'll get constant dental treatments, and continue to be receptive to those treatments. Take care!
