Social Distancing - Week 1

While we had no idea what we were getting into, this week has been fantastic!
I'm surprised at how well this super busy family slid into a low key lifestyle.
I am working from home. But I work for an amazing company who is allowing me time with my kids and working my hours at times it's convenient for our family.
The girls and I do really well with schedules so we sat down on Sunday night as a family and established a schedule. We have barely had to tweak it. It's working so well.
We had to purchase a few things to make things easier.
My new workspace!
I also went to Dollar General and bought some things to keep the girls organized.

Part of our distance learning is called Special Instruction.
This is a different activity that John and I are doing with the girls to help with life skills.
Day 1 -- Cookie Decorating

We've also created a list of things we want to clean and organize.
Day 1 -- The Pantry

Doing so well!

We also are dinner prepping after we eat lunch!

Day 2 Special Instruction was John. I had a conference call!
He taught the how to use a drill!

Cursive Writing!

There is quite a bit of together time. Including when I shower.

Genoa started a "Bear Hunt"
Residents of Genoa put stuffed bears in their windows to give families an activity to do while distancing.
We spent Special Instruction on a field trip!

I miss my friends. So we set up a video call one evening where we all enjoyed a drink and caught up with each others lives.

Addy had a video chat with her Intervention Specialist.
So cute!

While Ava and I enjoyed our morning coffee.

Part of their assignments for Art were to do self portraits of something they enjoy doing.
Addy is eating ice cream

Ava is playing soccer.

They were also supposed to play a sport together for Gym class!

Special Instruction on the warmest day was a bike ride with Daddy!

I realized I needed to move. I've been going outside but I needed to walk a long distance. Haha!
So off to the park!

We stopped and picked up Ignite for lunch!
Still have to support our small businesses!

I saw this super cool project on Facebook.
Making a stained glass window.
Acrylic paint with a touch of Dawn dish detergent , some tape and they were off!

While I was waiting for the paint to dry, I enjoyed "Wine with DeWine". But since it was a work day, it was "Tea with DeWine"

We received an amazing note and some cookies from our awesome neighbors.
We have a great community!

The finished product! Love how it turned out!

We made banana bread!

And decided to share with our friends!
Ava was sneaking up to drop it off!

I think they liked it!

We truly had a great week and look forward to Week #2!

Home Safely!

We made it home safely but about an hour from home, it was announced that Ohio was going under a mandatory two week "stay at home" order.
We knew we didn't have much food at home since we were prepping for vacation so we needed lots of stuff. We were also unsure of the future state so we wanted to be prepared.
So...with 7 people in the car, one week worth of vacation luggage, add groceries for 2 weeks. It was a tight squeeze on the way home but we got everything we needed!!

Our "Not A Cruise" Florida Vacation - Part 4

Our last full day in Florida, we drove down to Miami South Beach.
I really wanted to show the girls one of my most favorite places.
Unfortunately most everything was closed but we still enjoyed the scenery.

The girls were so excited to try Nitro Ice.

We enjoyed seeing all the cruise ships lined up!
This is the new cruise ship from Virgin that wasn't able to take their maiden voyage.

We spent the evening eating dinner in and packing up.
We started our long trek home very early the next morning!

The Murphy Family!!

Whenever we are in South Florida, I always reach out to the Murphy Family.
Lisa and I met on Facebook in the Shanghai Adoption Group.
Her son, Charlie and my Ava were both Shanghai babies!
Our original plans fell through as the Coronavirus was really starting to impact.
But they invited us to their community to go swimming!!
They have a total of 4 kids and 1 in Heaven.
It was so special to spend time with them!

So grateful for our friendship!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Ballmer!
