It wasn't as bad as I thought. It was so gorgeous that you stop so many times for pictures that you can catch your breath. The worst part was the footing. It was slippery and uneven. So you had to really be careful.
After the hike, we were still smiling!
And headed over to the shelter house to enjoy our packed lunch.
Emily struggled at Old Mans Cave. But again, I think it was mostly the slippery trails. She held on to John for dear life! Ha!
Before we had left that day, I had read an article about Rock House. Also an attraction in Hocking Hills. Everyone raved about how cool it was. So, I decided we head there next. But man, these folks should have warned about how hard of a hike it was. Emily opted out of this one and I think she had the right idea!! This trail was so hard. There was actually one time that we were basically scaling rocks. But we made it.
And again, still managed a smile.
We decided that was enough hiking for the day. And we headed back to the cabin. After some play time, hot tub time, and showers, we relaxed the rest of the day.
We made pizza's and pie's with the pie irons. They were super yummy!
Hocking Hills is fantastic! We will definitely go again but would probably stay longer and take in more of the sight seeing.
