Happy Birthday, Nana!

Nana picked El Camino for her birthday dinner this year!
We gathered for yummy food and even better margarita's.
It was a wonderful time with the family minus Nate. Who was in Florida. :)

Play Date with Audrina

Addy's best friend at preschool was Audrina. Since Addy finished school, we haven't seen Audrina. Her mom reached out because Audrina was having a hard time and was missing Addy so much. That just warmed my heart and made me sad! We arranged a picnic and play at the park.
And surprised them! They ran to each other and hugged for many minutes!
It was so sweet!

Unfortunately they will be going to different schools so we have to make the effort to keep them close!

Farmer's Market and Slime

My new favorite thing to do is Saturday mornings at the Toledo Farmer's Market! I had to take a week off because it was becoming pretty expensive! Ha!
We were so excited to have Ella join us one morning.

Holey Toledough donuts have become a family favorite!

These loves talked me into slime kits at the market so we came home and they went to work.

They had so much making creations!

Happy 3rd Gotcha Day, Addy Grace!

We celebrated Addy's 3rd Gotcha Day on June 16th! (Am I really a month behind on my blog?)
We kept it low key with ice cream for dinner and her new mermaid outfit.
Can't believe it's been 3 years! My girl is starting kindergarten soon!

My Little Athlete

Super competitive Ava Kate started to have problems with her knee when she would wake up in the morning. She couldn't straighten her leg. We also noticed driving home from Baltimore that she would struggle after being in the car for a period of time.
Off to the orthopedic doctor we go.
Diagnosis: Runner's Knee
Basically she has played too hard and her little knee needs a rest. Lots of exercises specified by the Dr and ice. She's getting a little better but still pretty stiff when she wakes up. We have to get her better before fall season starts!

Shanghai Connections

When we first posted that we were in Baltimore I had a Facebook friend reach out. By friend, I mean someone who I have never met, but know through the adoption world. We had been Facebook friends for quite some time. They only lived about 20 minutes from the cruise port and asked us to stop by on our return. Their daughter Eliana and Ava were in the Shanghai orphanage at the exact same time. They share the same Chinese surname and first name.
All children who entered in 2008 were given the surname, Wu.
All children who entered in July were given the first name Jia.
I'm so grateful we were able to get our Wu babies together!

They have no memories of each other but hit off! They played solid for 2 hours.
And we have lifelong friends!
