BP Family Night at The Mudhens!

Remember that one time when I didn't blog for almost a week? Neither do I…

BP (John's employer) hosted a family night at Fifth Third Field. So we loaded up our "so many childrens" and headed downtown. I had bought the girls matching shirts, shocker, right??? BP put quite the night. Wow! There were balloon animals, face painting, little gift bags for the kids, and ice cream!! And our girls took part in everything! They had such a good time! We didn't stay for fireworks because Addy doesn't handle them well. And Ava doesn't know they have them so it was all good! Haha!

Thank you to BP for a great family night!!!

EllaRozzie Playdate #2

Back to back playdates??? Yes, please!!!

Today we hosted for a swim day! The girls completely enjoyed themselves and swam for hours with a little break for lunch.

And a little pose picture with their new lip glosses that Miss Kelly brought over!!

We love our friends!

EllaRozzie Playdate #1

We are definitely enjoying our time off from work and school and filling it with fun stuff!

Next up, a playdate with Ella and Roz! We decided to keep it easy and just went to the mall to walk around and play in the play area. We ended up there for almost 5 hours! The girls had an absolute blast! No fighting and everyone was so happy!

We stopped by Bare Minerals to see Miss Kelly, our neighbor. And the girls all got a little makeover!

And Addy got into a little makeup on her own.

A big thanks to Miss Kelly! They had a blast!

Visit to Mommy's Work!

This morning we set the alarm again! This time for a visit to Owens Corning!! I took the girls in for a visit with my co-workers. Let me tell you, these girls made out! Cookies, candy, beads, stress balls, little stuffed Pink Panther's. I had to get a bag to carry it all out!!! Thanks to my work family for making my girls think I work at the coolest place!! Which I kinda do

Busy Day!

Whew, Monday was soooo busy! Shout out to stay at home Mama's! I have NO clue how you do this everyday. A day in the life of the Houghtaling's.

8:00 - Alarm goes off. Yes, the alarm at 8. We have been sleeping in. Get Ava up and dressed.
8:30 - Out the door to take Ava to school.
9:15 - Back home to get a couple of loads of laundry done and general pickup
10:30 - Wake Addy up. Seriously.
10:45 - Finally getting her going, breakfast/snack, tub and dressed
11:30 - Out the door to pick up Ava from school
12:00 - Drop Ava off to soccer camp
12:15 - Bay Park for Addycakes blood draw. Poor girl. They had to poke her twice, but they made up for it by giving her 4 suckers!

2:00 - Bank
2:15 - Back to soccer camp to finish watching Ava for the last 45 minutes. She was so cute!! And Good!

3:00 -- Head to the salon for my OVERDUE hair appt. Since I walked in there with bed head. While we are there both girls were pampered by Laura and Addy got her nails painted for the first time!

4:00 - John picks up the girls so I can enjoy the last of my hair appt in peace
5:00 - Home and start dinner. Now, it was pre made by Amy and I just had to put it in the oven. Which was good since I still had to clean the Cheerio's off the floor from breakfast. John was outside with the girls swimming or should we call it an acrobat show?

6:00 - Eat dinner and clean up
7:00 - Sit down for the first time all day

How do people do this everyday?? Haha! I truly am enjoying my time home but my house is messier, laundry is piled up. and I haven't looked at a calendar. But I get lots of snuggles, kisses, and hugs from two sweet little girls! And that makes everything right in the world.

Happy Birthday, America!!

We had a wonderful holiday weekend! Filled with family, friends, and fireworks!!!

Friday started out a little slow for me. I'm still getting a bit of jet lag and literally laid around until about 6pm. Kelly asked "What happened to my friend, Sara, in China?" Haha!!

We enjoyed a visit from my friend, Sara Kinney, who brought my girls gifts and a yummy chicken enchilada casserole. Thanks for the visit!!

After I got my act together, we packed a picnic and headed to OC Headquarters to enjoy Red, White, and KABOOM! We found a nice shaded spot, set the family up for some pictures, and then dug into the picnic!

Ava and Jojo are so goofy! Trying to catch grapes in their mouths!

After dinner, we had some time to kill so went searching for friends! And look who we found!

After a potty break (that we won't talk about, H!!!), we headed back up the hill and settled in for the show! Ava got her prime spot ready which lasted about 2 minutes because let's be honest…what 5 year old can sit still???

Addy didn't fair too well during the show. As a matter of fact, she stayed snuggled with John under the blanket. I tried to take her to the car but she didn't want that either!

Everyone enjoyed the show and Ava was stunned by the grand finale!!!

Saturday, Ava was invited over to play with Jordyn for the day! They came to pick her up and to say she was excited would be an understatement.

Later in the day we were invited to Pat and Jenni's for dinner and the girls had a blast playing with their cousins!

After dinner we headed up to the Woodville carnival. Rides, delicious lemonade, and more fireworks!

I got her in a dress but we still had the ball hat and spiderman shoes.

Addy was so excited to see Ava on the rides. Everytime she came around she would get all bouncy, laughing, and yelling "Mei!" Adorbs!

John and I made the decision to not stay for fireworks because Addy probably couldn't do another night. Pat and Jenni invited Ava over to stay the night. We decided to try it even though she hasn't stayed anywhere but Nana's. Well, I got the call at 11:30pm from Jenni "Ava just told us that she would take a bath but she isn't sleeping here". Haha!! I love that kid! And I was happy she wanted to come home. I missed her all day!

Tomorrow we are starting a somewhat normal schedule. Ava is ready to go back to school. We'll see how that goes! Stay tuned!
