Finally, Spring Break.
Due to the cost of flights, we decided to stay within driving distance this year. A couple of places we have never been: Memphis and Nashville!
We left after school on Friday and started the drive. We drove halfway to Memphis (which is surprisingly far!) and then stopped for the night for dinner and hotel.
This girl was absolutely STARVING and ordered the biggest meal on the menu.
She definitely put a dent in it. Ha!
The next morning we started out to complete the drive to Memphis.
Well, we kept seeing sign after sign about Loretta Lynn's Ranch.
Well, we were in Tennessee. Why not?
It ended up being very cool and completely worth it.
There were very few people there so we had the place to ourselves.
Nana was super excited about this!
Coal Miner's Daughter is one of her favorites!
This is a replica to scale of her childhood home.
We hopped back in the car and drove the rest of the way to Memphis.
Straight to Central BBQ. Voted the best in Memphis.
We have friends in Memphis and met them for lunch.
After lunch, we headed across the street to the Civil Rights Museum which is located at the Lorraine Motel.
What an impactful visit. Wow.
Not a great photo but this is MLK Jr.'s room when he was shot.
The wreath is where MLK Jr. was standing when he was shot.
After the Civil Right Museum, we went back to our friends house for cupcakes and coffee!
Mandi and Kristina were fabulous hosts and have the most adorable little place.
It was so great to see them!
After we said our goodbyes, we headed to our hotel for the night to get ready for the next day!
We were exhausted but what a great day!
