With school closed for MLK and Owens Corning also closed, we decided an overnight trip was in order. We needed to stay close to home due to some obligations that next day so we headed up to Ann Arbor for the night. While it was a good time away, we forgot Michigan is still under such a tight COVID lock down. There are a few things we were able to do but we still found fun.
First stop: Graffiti Alley. It was very cool and brought little giggles from my girls for some of the inappropriate words.
Wave Field. This definitely was a smaller scale than we anticipated. I think it would have been better if there wasn't any snow to get the full affect.
We really wanted to eat lunch at Krazy Jim Burger House. It was featured on the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We headed there for lunch and that is when we realized there is no indoor dining. Anywhere. So we still ordered and ate in the car. Greasy burgers make for messiness.
The Browns were playing in a playoff game and we had planned to go to a sports bar. But we couldn't.
So back to the hotel for John to watch the game and I took these munchkins swimming.
We had tried a couple of times during the day to go to Trader Joe's. The line was wrapped around the building! We went back later in the evening when we went out to grab dinner and the line was smaller so we decided to wait. It was well worth it!
We were home by lunch for more fun!
