Gold Star!

This little girl has officially landed her back handspring.
So she got a gold star on the wall at the gym!
She was so proud!

Happy 13 Years Uncle Nate!!

January 18th is a pretty special day in our family.
It's Uncle Nate's sobriety anniversary!
I'm always so so proud of him but I remember January 18, 2008 very well.
2007 had been a very hellish year and I spent many days wondering if we were going to bury my brother.
But...instead 13 years later, we are celebrating with chicken parmesan and chocolate chip cookies!
I am so grateful that he was given a 2nd chance at life and has chosen to help others who were in the same situation as him.

MLK Service Day!

This year Owens Corning decided to close on MLK Day in hopes that their employees would use it as a Service Day!
So...we invited these cuties over to help!
They had to play and get the hot tub out of the way and then we got started!

We made a tie blanket!
The girls were great help!
I've turned the blanket back into OC and they are delivering them to children in the local hospitals.

Ann Arbor

With school closed for MLK  and Owens Corning also closed, we decided an overnight trip was in order.  We needed to stay close to home due to some obligations that next day so we headed up to Ann Arbor for the night. While it was a good time away, we forgot Michigan is still under such a tight COVID lock down. There are a few things we were able to do but we still found fun.

First stop: Graffiti Alley. It was very cool and brought little giggles from my girls for some of the inappropriate words.

Wave Field. This definitely was a smaller scale than we anticipated. I think it would have been better if there wasn't any snow to get the full affect.

We really wanted to eat lunch at Krazy Jim Burger House. It was featured on the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We headed there for lunch and that is when we realized there is no indoor dining. Anywhere. So we still ordered and ate in the car. Greasy burgers make for messiness.

The Browns were playing in a playoff game and we had planned to go to a sports bar. But we couldn't.
So back to the hotel for John to watch the game and I took these munchkins swimming.

We had tried a couple of times during the day to go to Trader Joe's. The line was wrapped around the building! We went back later in the evening when we went out to grab dinner and the line was smaller so we decided to wait. It was well worth it!

We were home by lunch for more fun!

Puppies and Goats!

Saturday brought a visit to the farm!
We drove out to my friend Sarah's farm to say goodbye to the puppies and greet the new baby goats!
The puppies were off the charts adorable! Gah!
There were a few baby goats born on December 30th and another born just the night before.

This little guy kept coming up to us and jumping on us to be held. Just like a little puppy.

Addy never left the puppies side.
She was so in love!

Feeding baby goats is one of my favorite things to do!

Then it was home for a shower to head to dinner with Shelby and Sam.
Strawberry Rose Sangria for the win!

Mrs. Doubtfire

The other night after Addy's shower, she came strolling out of the bathroom with this get up.
I legit cracked up for about an hour!
She looked like Mrs. Doubtfire!
I had to FaceTime my mom because I had to share with someone!
Goodness, Addy is so, so fuuny!
The glasses are bluelight protection that I bought the girls to use while online.
Love this kid!

Go Bucks!

Ohio State made it to the National Championship!
As Buckeye fans, the Houghtaling's where pretty excited and dressed in our best!

Maisie and her family came over for a bit to watch the game.
They didn't stay too long because an 8:00 game on a Monday night isn't good for the littles.

Unfortunately we didn't have a Buckeye win but these girls didn't notice.
Did I mention an 8:00 game?

Baby Emmett

My cousin Jacey became a 1st time Mama on New Years Eve.
Meet Baby Emmett.
Ahhh...he is so precious!
