Houghtaling Girls in the Kitchen!!

So...there have some big changes around the Ho house.
We really cut back their electronic time.
Therefore, we've been playing games, playing outside, and helping cook dinner!
It's been so nice.
This was a recipe for Dorito Chicken, per Ava's request.
It was just ok.
Everyone seemed to like it ok.
I wish we would have made these changes sooner.
It's been wonderful!

Emily Made The News!!

The local newspaper ran an article on Aunt Emily's new coffee shop and Em was featured in the article!
Uncle Nate had the article framed for her.
It's been a big week for Em!

Ava Kate Volleyball 2019

Ava Kate is wrapping up her 2019 Volleyball season.
They have done so well!!!
It's not her favorite but she enjoys it.
Her last game is Sunday, it's a short season but it's so hard with soccer season so it will be nice to have a lighter schedule.
I also absolutely love that her coach decided we would just do our own pictures instead of the professional. Yay!!
Also...the pink shirt. Haha!

Comet Crazies!

Friday was Comet Crazies at school! Ava wore her regular gym shorts and shirt. Ha!
Addy went all out!
The night before, after her shower, we put her hair in all of these little braids.
We got a great outcome the next morning!

She was also allowed to wear her cheer uniform to school.
She was so exited!

Christy's Corner

Volleyball found us in the same town as Aunt Emily's new workplace.
Unfortunately, Aunt Emily was off work but we still enjoyed some pumpkin spice latte's!

Sanford Wedding and Kalahari!

Last weekend we spent the night in Cleveland to attend the wedding of Leigh Sanford.
She is the daughter of John's best friend from high school.
It was held at the Aquarium in downtown Cleveland. It was so cool.
This was our view during the ceremony.

We had a wonderful time adulting for about 18 hours. Ha!
We didn't get a picture of the bride and groom because we really don't know them and I didn't want to be awkward. Ha!
We did spend some time with the other third of the trio, Greg and his wife Tina.

The venue was amazing, the food was delicious and cake was perfect.
We had a really nice time.

We spent quite a bit of time out on the patio with this view.

While we were adulting, Uncle Nate was on duty with the two munchkins.
They spent the day/night swimming, playing games, eating ice cream and having fun at Kalahari.

Slide Fun!!

When John bought the slide, the intention was he would install in next summer.
Well, the girls begged and pleaded so he installed it.
It has gotten so much use!
The girls just go up and down all of the time!
Roz and Ella came out and tried it too!

Autumn Moon Festival

Not only was September 13th actually Friday the 13th but it was also the Autumn Moon Festival.
This is celebrated big in the Asian world.
I wanted to send moon cakes into school for the girls so I made a trip to the Asian market.
Panda cookies, chopsticks, and haw flakes for my super happy girls!

Addy was all about taking in the book and showing off to her class.
Here is her teacher and her class.
Don't you love her pink hair?

Here are the cakes we sent in. They were lotus seed. Blech.

We then celebrated and tried the cakes with Ella and Roz.
Consensus: Addy and Roz loved them!
Ella and Ava hated them!!

Happy Birthday, Katie!!!

Mama Katie had a birthday.
We met for pumpkin pancakes with some other friends.
Her birthday gift is still on order.
But I want to shout out how much I love her!
I talked to her 10 times a day, I tell her everything. I mean everything.
My kids love her like the 2nd mama she is.
I'm so grateful she is in my life.
Happy Birthday, to my sweet friend!

Aunt Emily's New Job!!

Aunt Emily has a new job!!!
She is still working at Miller's but now she can add Christy's Corner Cafe to her resume.
I saw a news article a few months back about a new cafe opening in a neighboring town.
This little cafe is only hiring individuals with disabilities.
Enter Emily.
She's happy and she loves it.
If you are ever in the area, stop in and say Hi!!

Shelby's Wedding

One of my dear friends at work got married last weekend!
We celebrated a few weeks prior at Put In Bay, followed by a shower at work.

The day of the wedding started with a bridal brunch at my house!!
I hosted the wedding party, as well as, the mothers of the bride.

Then it was off to the glam appointments.
I was fortunate enough to have a friend who I claimed a favor.
She does hair and I asked her to do mine.
She outdid herself. It was amazing!

We had a wonderful time and Shelby was absolutely gorgeous!

JoJo Siwa Concert

For Addy's birthday in April, we gave her two tickets to the JoJo Siwa concert!
Poor girl had to wait FIVE months to reap the benefits of her gift.
Jolie and Leilani came up and the four of us feasted on El Camino before heading to the show.
The girls were totally decked out in the best JoJo outfits!
The girls were both super shy at first. I truly don't think she realized we were going to see her in person. She couldn't believe it was the real deal. It wasn't the best concert I have ever been to but goodness, Addy was the sweetest!! Ha!
